Private Principal on the Upper East Side Seeking a Sophisticated, Detail-Oriented Personal Assistant Position: Full-Time, Live-Out Personal Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Friday, ideally 9:00 AM-5:00 PM or 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, flexible for the right candidate; approximately 40 hours per week
Salary: $125,000-$130,000, commensurate with experience; negotiable for the right candidate
Benefits: PTO, sick days, paid holidays, and health insurance
Location: Upper East Side, Manhattan
Travel: No travel required; the principal travels frequently, but the PA is not expected to travel.
About the Principal A busy private principal on Manhattan's Upper East Side is seeking a
highly capable, thoughtful Personal Assistant to provide day-to-day support in a private and creative environment. The principal has a strong background in architecture and a deep appreciation for art, design, literature, and beautiful, well-considered things. The ideal PA will share these sensibilities and bring exceptional organizational skills, curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for quality and refined design to the role.
This is a
true Personal Assistant position , focused on providing highly personalized support rather than household management or estate oversight. The principal travels frequently, but the PA will not be expected to travel.
The PA will work both from the principal's Upper East Side apartment and remotely, depending on the needs of the principal and the work at hand.
Responsibilities - Manage calendars, appointments, reservations, and day-to-day scheduling
- Coordinate errands, deliveries, returns, purchases, dry cleaning, post office needs, and other personal tasks
- Conduct excellent, thorough research on products, services, restaurants, experiences, and special requests, with an eye toward quality and aesthetics
- Assist with travel planning, dinners, events, appointments, and personal plans
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers as needed
- Handle occasional correspondence, administrative tasks, and follow-up
- Assist with personal, household, and lifestyle projects as needed
- Keep information, schedules, and priorities thoughtfully organized
- Anticipate needs and take ownership of projects from beginning to end
- Provide occasional support with the family's beloved dog, including coordinating veterinary and grooming appointments
- Handle all responsibilities with discretion, resourcefulness, and complete confidentiality
Ideal Candidate & Personality The ideal candidate is
kind, calm, meticulous, flexible, and quietly confident . Someone who is friendly and warm, but not overly chatty. Present and attentive without being intrusive.
Because the principal is highly creative, priorities and ideas may occasionally evolve. The right person will respond to those changes with patience, curiosity, and flexibility rather than frustration. Someone who can embrace a new direction, rethink a plan, and calmly figure out what comes next will thrive in this role.
A background or strong personal interest in
architecture, design, fine arts, art history, literature, or a related creative field would be especially appealing. Excellent research skills are essential. Strong writing skills and a genuine love of reading are wonderful additions.
French-speaking candidates are especially welcome, as the principal speaks both French and English.
Requirements - Previous experience as a high-level Personal Assistant or in a similarly demanding support role

- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Driver's license preferred, but not required
- Genuine love of dogs
